351C folks, don't waste your money on Weiand aluminum water pump!

Post by 69timemachine »

I put a Weiand 8209 aluminum water pump on my 351C when I rebuilt the engine. It lasted about 3,000 miles until it started dripping out of the weep hole. I thought a name brand like Weiand would have better quality than that. Stick with pumps that have good reviews!

Future plans: Maybe one day, fresh paint, though I've been told by some, "Don't touch it! It's done!"

The pump I replaced the Weiand with was an aluminum FlowKooler pump. It is still going strong after a few years of running. And the build quality of the FlowKooler looks amazing! I highly recommend it over the Weiand, and it hardly cost any more than the Weiand did!
