Fordmans 71 4wd woods truck

Post by fordman »

here are pics of my new 71 4wd. it needs a few things. but not a hugh load. i also am not going to be doing a total frame off on it either.
following is my list of things that need repaired on it.
cab mounts floors rocker corner curve bed seam resealed new door or a door repair in each of the outer two lower corners of the passenger door and a whole new front clip. as well as the enigne reinstalled.
since this truck isnt going to be a frame off and just a work truck. i'm not going to go hog wild on it. and repair everything with new parts. i will do my best though to be very professional about everything i do to this truck.

the first thing i have done is to take it to the car wash and steam clean off most of the dirt and grease. i still need to go back and finish the wash job. i ran out of quarters on that day. i also took an inventory of what body parts i could reuse from the front clip and reduced the pile of body parts to a more easliy haulable load for the scrap yard. i also have picked up a front clip from the junkyard that need some work to it. this truck also has bedliner material all over the whole body. the truck was orginally red. i am unsure if i am going to remove all of the bedliner material off of the body or not right now. these pics are before i done anything to the truck.

Tough looking project. You could always retain its rough -n- tough theme by keeping the bedliner!

here are some pics i took yesterday of last weeks final work on this thing. i had a thought today about filling those holes with some jb weld. i doubt i will do that. i may end up just putting some paintable silicone in there and painting over it.

I have that green one sitting, i was gonna build a truck out of it, it needs the front mounts and minor patches to the rocker pannels. the top of both doors need a little fixing. I just don't think i can afford to do what i was planning.

todays update i borrowed a power washer and washed most of the rest of the grease and caked on dirt off of the frame transmission and transfer case. i really needed a hotwater source to get all the grease off. but is good enough for now. next update in about a week i think.
