71 Sport Custom Swb...Coming together

Post by cole71 »

This is how it all started. 1971 Swb Sport Custom, manual everything, 3spd on the column, 302, with 3.25 gears. I bought it in July 2011 with the original title and am the third owner. (Looked better than this before I bought it, guy got backed into by a transfer truck a few years back, hence the crinkled fender and mismatched door) but here are some pics I've taken along the way. Enjoy!

It stated out just getting the bugs outta the truck and fine tuning it which we did, and then like most of you guys on here knows, you see something and say "oh well we might as well fix this or that." Before I knew it we had the entire truck striped and getting the sheet metal ready for paint. Here are some more pictures...

Here are some pics of my transmission I cleaned up and painted. Man, this thing was covered in baked on grease, oil, and dirt. Took a lot of work, but I'm pleased with the results.

Finally some paint on the bed! The sides of the bed and the hood (not pictured) should be painted tomorrow.
