Made up some test fit mounts to see if this would fly. Setback the engine 3". It really makes a difference in space forward, still have plenty of room at the firewall once I pull the IMRC box off the back of the driver's head. Don't need it anyway as I'm going to strip the IMRCs when I swap to the Cobra intake.

Front cylinders of the engine are about inline with the front wheels. I'm real happy with the results. Just need to work past a couple things, and make up some real mounts.

Can't give a hard measurement as i don't have everything in a final position, but the shifter looks to be about 3 inches forward of the rear of the inspection panel.

Finished building the relocated motor mounts. 3/16" plate, boxed. Only raises the engine by 3/16" instead of an inch, still back 3 inches.

Decided the crossmember under the firewall has to go. I'm going to cut it out, plate the ends left on the rails, and fab a bolt in tubular replacement.

Also, oil filter won't fit. Not an issue, I planned on putting in a remote filter anyway.

Shifter placement looks great Ill find out tomorrow how mine lines up I'm about a inch and half farther forward than you, so a police crown vic driveshaft would fit. I took that front crossmember out by the fire wall was in the way of exhaust. I bent up a tube crossmember for that one and the tranny . I went with an oil filter off a caddy shorter than the ford but think the 5.0 is different than the 4.6.

With my setup, 17x9 wheels, 255 front, 275 rear, I'm measuring 75 inches across the front, 71.5 in the rear. I might run some spacers in the back.

Dropped the cab back on the frame...

Haven't taken an odd day off yet this summer so I called in, and after running some errands, spent the day doing some finish work. Cab is squared to the frame and bolted in. Same for the IFS, all squared and bolted in with grade 8 hardware.

PS tank needed moved over, so I modded the bracket, the CV rack and the SN rack use different style hoses so I made my own by flaring/tube nuts/coupler, all I need is measure the space and find a cooler that will fit. Adapted some SN type upper mounts as the lowers for the radiator, need to grab a second set for the upper. Still need to fabricate a remote oil filter, but the driver's side is pretty sorted. Enough anyway that I can begin repair work to both inners.
