Hood bolts source ???

Post by stldesign »

Who sells hood hinge bolts and bolt "cage"

We have a 69 and need the folded over tabs or cages the bolts go thru where the hinge bolts to hood 2 each side.

LMC has bolts but not the tab/cages

Similar to ones shown in picture

Most GOOD auto parts should have those in stock. They would be in the back in bulk boxes but you have to ask for them at the counter. The CARQUEST (now Advance Auto Parts) I worked at for a while has them in bulk and Napa should too. Not sure about O'reillys or Vato Zone but, you can ask.

They are called u-nuts. Below is a link to them on Summit. Also, there are plenty of eBay sellers. I have a bunch of used ones; send me a PM if you want some of them.

You should also be able to find them in bulk in auto parts stores and well-stocked hardware stores.

I forgot to tell you that the name for the nuts is "speed nuts". They come in different lengths so it would be best to take a sample in to compare so you get the correct ones.

I got a pile of them off eBay for cheap. I got the yellow coated ones and replaced all of them on the truck for maybe 25$. They look sharp too.
