1157 turn signal bulb

Post by 1guydude »

Well. Ive been driving my old truck. One of the blinkers stoped working....no it wasnt low on fluid. :p

I pulled the cover to fund the bulb all white and blown.
Heck of a time. It was all rusty and stuck. Finally with a lil push and turn. It came out.
I got new ones or i though. On my third time or set. The 1157 wont go in.... ?!
I know they r these cuz i took the otherside in with me.
Any help? Ill try get the old truck down to the auto part store. But maybe its just me or the bulb?!
Ordered.some from summit also was just looking at macs auto.
Thanks all.

If they were in poor shape, (the old bulbs coming out) the spring behind the light socket is probably seized stopping the new bulb from being able to compress the socket properly.
Can you push the center insulating socket in and out freely? If not then it's time for new ones.

Doesn't that bulb have bayonets that are at different distances from the bottom of the base? Could you have been trying to put them in backwards?
