4x4 hubs

Post by stacerbob »

Can the large lockout Knob high boy hub and rotors be used on the later 78-79 Dana 44 front axle?

I do not think so from what i have seen the 78-79 hubs have the lockout splines as a part of the hub and on the earlier style the lockout splines bolt to the hub with the rest of the lockout assy. :2cents:

If you are talking about the original Spicer Metal Knob lockouts, then no.

The 76,77 highboy has them with a 44HD
That's why I was thinking even if you had to use knuckles, spindles & outer axle shafts they would work.
Basically use a 1979 44 high pinion housing in a Highboy truck
