Anybody Know what colour this is?
Hi
Could anyone tell me what colour my truck is? I figure it is a burnt orange colour, but so far that's the closest I've gotten to finding its real name. My bodyman isn't sure either, so he is just going to have it colour matched for the truck's neew paint jop. So if anyone out there could give me a hand in identifying it, that would be great!
Thanks

Sounds like calypso coral, cool color. Thats really the only orange that was available. There was also federal red and rangoon red, which might fade to orange if it was a poor refinish.
Best bet is to wax an aoriginal door jamb or some hidden area and then they can use the chips for the 3 available colors to figure out which it really is.

"Chrome Yellow" looks more like the burnt orange you have, is your door tag still intact?

Reminds me of those "Asplundh" work trucks I use to see up around Ohio, WV area.

Could also be Cordova Copper. Mine is Two tone, that being the lower color. Data plate on mine matches. The ebay seller i bought it from said it looked burnt orange too.

re: Anybody Know what colour this is?
Definitely looks like 'Chrome Yellow' to me too. I don't have the paint chips for your year (yet), but Chrome Yellow was also available in '72, and you can take a look at those paint chips HERE. As Barry mentioned, the color should be listed on your VIN tag on the driver's door, assuming that the door/tag is original to your truck. If it is, you can compare your paint code to those listed HERE.

If you are actually going to print that and use it, do it on Photo Paper and compare it to a jamb or firewall somewhere that is not faded too bad. If we had gone strictly from that chart my truck looks closer to Swiss aqua than Bahama (but the letter and color code are Bahama)68F250 wrote:Ya know bumpsides has paint chips

In addition, if you request a history report from Ford, it will include the color.

re: Anybody Know what colour this is?
The engine bay on my new '69 is still the original "chrome yellow" and it looks way more yellow than the paint chips above...maybe time has faded it? If it's really that orange color my truck is definitely going back to its original color, that's cool!
