Cab moving day FINALLY arrived! WOOHOO! ( LG PICS)

Got the cab pulled today from the F250 parts truck and set onto my F100 chassis. Once we got it set on the frame and pushed back into the shop, I laid some thin carpet over the frame, then laid down several sheets of plywood. On top of that I set out some old couch cushions, and then rolled the cab back so the bottom was exposed.

Now I just gotta get to work getting the bottom cleaned up and coated. :D

Them cranes sure come in handy. That cab looks really clean under there.

Did I ever tell you you are welcome anytime. Oh yeah bring that crane truck when you come over  I am a slow learner and I bet I could really understand this process if I watched it in person. (like on my truck)
That really looks good---What are you thinking for the bottom-sandblast,paint,undercoat??
It won't be long now you will be :drive: that truck in no time

Well, I believe I'm going to give the Herculiner roll-on bedliner treatment a try, and use that on both the inside and outside floorpans. I'm thinking that if the floorpan is prepared right, that stuff will stick and protect for a long time....plus with it's rough texture, it'll hide minor imperfections, too, and help deaden some of the road noise.

I'm gonna be hitting the shop on Sunday and spending the whole day in there working on getting the floorpans cleaned up and ready to coat.

Well, spent the day in the shop today getting started on the floorpan cleaning. I didn't take any pictures since there was really nothing noteworthy done. Decided against sandblasting it, since it's as clean as it is....I'm just going to be using sandpaper discs and a wire brush attachment in the angle grinder to clean it up enough to be coated.

However, I DID just post another project update page, with pics taken over the past three weekends while stripping the cab and getting it moved over to the F100 chassis.

Glad to see you found a good solid cab with far less prep work than the old one. I see practically no rust at all other than the usual little surface stuff. Good solid metal!

Same here....I was really dreading the amount of work I was going to have to do to the other cab to make it useable. This one is completely rustfree, so the project just look some GIANT steps forward. :D
