I'm looking at a 71 F100 Shortbed and the right fender is about 1" lower than the left to ground. The truck as a whole is extremely clean, appears all original, and the frame looks good.
Is it common for one spring to sag that much more than the other? I was planning on measuring the distance from top to bottom of the spring mounts on each side to see if one of the springs is sagging. Any other ideas?
Also need to check air pressure in both tires to make sure that is good.
I figured the only other thing to check is to measure the height of both frame members to make sure there is not a prob there.
This is really a nice truck and I don't see how it could be anything else.

Assuming you are talking about the front fenders, check the cab mounts, had a similiar situation.

It's common for these truck to rust in the corners of the radiator support at the mounting location. If it rusts throught then the weight of the hood and fenders will cause that side of the truck to sag.
Having a rusted radiator support would not be a reason for me to pass on a good clean truck though. '73-79 supports will fit with a few minor mods.

It's also not that big a job to replace the springs.
I'd say if the frame isn't twisted, go for it.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the front fenders are where I measured.
There is absolutely no rust on this truck (other than some surface rust underneath and corrosion under the battery tray). All the sheet metal is absolutely solid. Even the sealant in the rain lip is all there. The truck spent most of it's life in a garage or under a carport. Paint is heavily oxidized and the usual nicks and bumps in the body.
Hopefully I can get back to it tomorrow and look closer at the cab mounts and springs.
But the wife's honey-do interior painting has to get finished first.

Any opinions as to whether a 1/4 drop in the right coil spring and 3/16 drop in the right cab mount rubber compared to the left side would result in a 1" fender drop on the right compared to the left?
The radiator core support is solid and frame appears to be straight. Tire pressure is same both sides.

I cant remember if I heard this somewhere, or making it up, but doesn't the engine sit farther to the right anyways? I know the front springs could be easily worn out, because both of our truck appear to sit a bit low in the front, but it is equally low on both sides.
