Pimp my truck
Have the MTV guys ever pimped a "real" truck? I looked through their web site and saw a suburban and VW micro bus, but no Fords.
I had a time installing a cd player in an overhead bay and hiding the jensens. I wonder where they would put the 6 or 7 TV screens, capucino machine, and how would a 68 Ranger look riding on 21's........

re: Pimp my truck
There was a truck on ebay with fairly large wheels. Didn't look to hot. Try to get somebody to get your truck on 'Overhauled'. They do some nice work.

re: Pimp my truck
Yeah the guys on overhaulin do do a good job, but the guys on MTV dont. If you look at the doorjams, and under the hood, and under the truck lid, or in the bed of the truck under the carpet, you still see the original colors. Sometimes they do engine work, and sometimes they dont. The guys on overhaulin do good restorations, and try to leave some originality to the car.

re: Pimp my truck
The only Ford truck related PMR's were a '85 Ranger and a '85 Econoline. I like Overhaulin' except for all time they waste on drama and putting the owner thru hell but I guess that's what sells shows. The episode with the '65 Tbird was very tastefully done!

Yes, I tried to find out what color is on that 65 T-bird, because that is the color I want both our trucks to be.

re: Pimp my truck
I think the T-bird episode was the best Overhaulin' episode they've had. Sometimes I think they get caried away with modifying the car or wild graphics to Wow the audience. I think with the T-bird that the roadster look complimented the body lines of the car. I don't know if it was a time factor or not, but they didn't go quite as wild as they sometimes do and the car turned out better for it.
I have to say I don't care for the stolen car routine. I'd like to see them can that "drama" and show a little more of the work on the car.
I have like a couple of episodes of pimp my ride, the VW van and the wierd Japanese van (Or was it Korean?). But they are always the same exact thing. "Look at me" paint, as much electronics as they can possibly stuff into the thing, large wheels with little sidewall, and if they must, a crate engine.

Yeah, I kind of quite watching Overhaulin because of the drama. I just want to trounce that little dude that gets off on messing with people and the Chic (Courtney) , why don't whe quit pretending like she works on the cars and just get out of the way. I do like what chip can do and his concept drawings are awesome.

Comet, either last weekend or the weekend before it was on. One of the old ones with a lot of the former employees (charlie, BlueBear, etc). Forget which car it was.

hey willowbilly
Courtney is gone, thank god. she was the one thing i really hated about the show. they have a new girl that ten times better looking and doesn't have the big mouth. i think it has gotton better this season. more time on the cars less on the tricks. so glad she gone!

Sometimes it seemed like her sole purpose was to prove she had a mouth and a bellybutton. I have had my cable off all summer so I will get back in touch with the world I guess and get it back.customcrewcab wrote:hey willowbilly

re: Pimp my truck
Boyd Coddington was good show. It and trucks are probably my favorite shows, then overhaulin. I stopped watching all those shows though because of reruns, and trucks is on in the morning, and I usually watch tv at night. I also got tired of the courtney girl also and the annoying prankster who both act like they are working on the car.
