Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
the angle bracket for the truck isnt there. they may fit but you still need the bottom angled brackets that bolt to the floor. i also want to know how the heck he is getting ups to ship them for only 10.00 i cant get that good of price on shipping seat tracks.

Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
Oops I guess I should clarify my question. I have the special bucket seat mounts, what I don't have is the sliders for my bucket seats. I wanted to make sure these were the ones that work with the brackets before I buy them. Here is the seats that I want to use. I believe they are out of a later mustang?? Not sure though. I will hopefully be able to bolt the sliders to these seats and the sliders to the brackets then to the floor. Do the original bucket seats come with sliders??

Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
I would use the National parts depot catalog to compare what years need which tracks. They have a listing for 2 different bucket seat brackets for the trucks and those part numbers are the same in the Mustang catalog. You just need to figure out which Mustang seat you have and buy the right tracks for it I think....

Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
ok thanks fordman. From what I understand all the sliders from 65 thru some of the 70's mustangs and cougars are the same as our trucks. Is that correct?

Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
Mustang/Cougar seat tracks are not the same as truck seat tracks. The original seat tracks for a truck had much shorter mounting studs so you can't use truck ones in a car but you can use car ones in a truck. The ones you linked to will work with the original floor barackets. Also note that many Ford seats used a standard bolt pattern on the base (but not all of them) so the seat tracks are very interchangeable when you are swapping seats. I used late model Ranger II seats and they bolted right to the original tracks with no modification. I have also done this with late model Tbird and Mustang seats when putting them in early Mustangs. Hey Thanks Hawkrod. I wish I knew for sure what the seats are out of. I will take a photo of the seat tracks on there and maybe you can tell me what they are out of and what year.

Re: Mustang/Cougar seat tracks question??
The blue seats look to be Mustang II or Granada (I am not really good on those) but look on the bottom of the seat for a metal tag attached to the springs. The tag will ID the seats (that is also how you can ID original truck buckets from Mustang buckets!). Hawkrod

I had that tag somewhere. I could not find a decoder that would decode it. DO you have a book that would decode it?

There is no book, just experience and knowledge. Hawkrodmljjones67 wrote:I had that tag somewhere. I could not find a decoder that would decode it. DO you have a book that would decode it?
