Get rid of all those bezels and knobs !!

Post by la1031 »

I am using a F600 dash cluster and moved all my knobs to the cluster so I filled in all the dash holes except ignition, which I almost moved to passenger side of the column, but that just would be right so I left it alone.

I figured some of you guys were thinking the same thing and wanted to know what it would look like. :D

i had thought of using theose clusters to hold atleast the winshield wiper swithc. there are only two good spots on the cluster to hold switches. what other switches would you put up there? the cargo light switch would be good to move up there or the flasher switch. i like where my cigar lighter is though.

My truck is a 68 so emergency flash is in the glove box. Brake warning light will still be in factory spot. There are 3 holes in that console and because of the internal girth of the switches the light switch will be on top and wiper on the bottom. I am going to use the manual choke in the middle hole. The lighter I will hide up under the dash to charge a cell phone or something, and install it as a power port.

I posted this thing here under a F600 post before but here it is a little more finished.

just a quick question for you...won't having the choke on the same side as the ignition make it awkward to use??? or do yo not need your choke? cause i know on mine its handy when you start her up, key on the left choke on the right. im just thinking both on the same side would be hard to operate.just my :2cents: it does look really good though

usually on these trucks the choke only has to be pulled out to start it. and left out while its being started. you don't have to set there and feather them back and forth.

Damn, my choke cable will not reach from the left. I will have to extend it or go electric and add the lighter in its place.

Hmm, You could extend it, but I love electric chokes over manual, however my truck wont get stolen with a manual one, people are retarded haha.

Thanks guys, I hope to get the cluster in permanently soon. Then we can all stand back and see if it was worth the work.

I'm a little curious myself. That tach sure doesn't look stock. I didn't see pics enough to tell if that uses a different harness than the 100. i.e. a multitude of eyes and wires or a nice block connector? It's not a drop in replacement is it?
