That little red light is your high-beam indicator. It should come on whenever you're high-beams are on.

You'll need to let us know some specs on your truck, since different configurations (year, 2WD/4WD, manual/auto trans., etc.) take different cables.

FWIW... i went thru about 4 aftermarket cables on my 69 before i pulled my head out & got a factory cable. Little more $$, but that was 14 years, and about 60k ago.

NPD is good, I bought mine from them. But I was able to go in there and look at it in person.

can you post or email me as to how you post your guages back on. I took mine apart and forgot for the life of me how to install the voltmeter gauge. it has to wires red and yellow.

what year is your truck? we have wiring diagrams that show where the wires go to. here is the main link you can look up your year of truck here. for the 68 trucks use the 69 wiring diagrams. for the 71 trucks use the 70 or 72 diagrams. which ever looks the closest. http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_h.htm
