Re: cigarette lighter removal
the only differences are the knob fo rthe 67 is different. no big deal. and soem had the lighted cigartte ligther socket and soem didn't. i use a pair of pliers at the most. usually i can just use my hand to unscrew the base from the socket.

the sockets are prety much the same in all fords. and other makes and models. pretty much. its the element and knob that look different in our truck. you can also buy generic sokets at the parts stores that work the same they may not have the night light option in those though.

Re: cigarette lighter removal
well the lighter has a plugg and a ground correct?
first off: the 90 boot connector is too small for the back of the lighter socket
second: no tab for ground? for the socket body so i guess i would just add one

Re: cigarette lighter removal
the ground shouldnt be a problem. i didnt know the stud was smaller than ours. edit. the socket should be fine grounding only to the dash via the way it touches the dash when it is installed.

Re: cigarette lighter removal
i must have been remembering wrong abou thte ground. or the sockets i have been pulling were out of something else or they were out of a truck with no night light in them. and with that red and blue wire socket. if the blue wire were to dash lights and the red hot fo rthe lighter. then the lighter would only work if the dash lights were on. doesnt that soudn right?

Re: cigarette lighter removal
u realy think that blue wire is for the dash lights? i think it might route up to the dome light..i have no headliner and i think its the same wire that goes over the drivers side door to the dome light assembly.(maybe the same wire)

Re: cigarette lighter removal
i dont know i have never seen one like that. that i can remember for sure. the dome light wire is usually black with a blue stripe. the dash lights are usually blue. as well as the horn wire is blue with yellow stripe. the cigarette lighter wire is usally black.
