dash controls in 1967 f100

Post by element7878 »

Im curious as to what the 3 temp controls were and what they controlled in the truck..also what they hooked to to make them work. I was looking at my dash earlier...i know i have two of the knobs, but im to lazy right now to go outside and see what they were for....i think they said defrost and control, but i could be wrong...and one i guess is missing... the one all the way to the left because there is just a hole...Its going to be getting cold pretty soon and was just curious as to what all i had to do to get the heater working...i have the blower fan under the dash, but it isnt hooked up, not even sure if it works...and im not sure if the two knobs i have are even hooked to anything...

I think the closest one to the driver is the fan switch, then defrost, then temp control or something like that .

Yea it does, not sure what it pulls for though either defrost or temp control meaning I'm still not sure what the 3rd one is for. I will look at my '67 and find out tomorrow for sure.

The 67 had a single switch to run the heater unless you have the deluxe heater option. The deluxe heater had 3 controls in the middle of the dash. The left one is for the fan control and heat control, the middle is for temp control, and the right one is the defrost or floor.

the only thing i could find is this. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... sh-air.gif

this is for the freash air heaters and not the deluxe heater with the three knobs. and this isnt a very good diagram as far as i am concerned. i don't have my 67 here. so i cant tell you exactly what cable goes to what. but it will be similar to the 68-72 deluxe heater cable arrangement. but i dont have one of those to look at. here is a picture that doesnt help much of the 68-72 heater controls hooked to the heater box.

Is the heater in the 67 the same heater as the 68-72 or did they change the box aswell as the heater controls?

the boxes are the same 67-72. its the fresh air vs deluxe heat that is the difference. and i think the only difference is the controls and the rubber boot. i think. there is a recent thread with soem pictures in it of the fresh air heater. but i can't remember what the thread was called. i'll see if i can find it.
