Instrument panel electrical plug

How do you get that sucker apart? I tried lifting up on one of the side tabs with my fingernail and I broke it off. I don't want to break anything else made out of 41 year old plastic. How does it come apart?

i think you push in the tabs not pull them

i just did it today on a 69. you squeze the clips on the side of the plug and wiggle both plugs apart.

Yeah, I finally got it. You squeeze the tabs on the short ends on the rectangular plug but there are two tabs on the long sides - one of which I broke off!
