:yt:, I know the door glass itself is the same, and the vent windows look the same so I'm thinking it should work. Never seen the locking handles though? Interested to see if it works for you, not worried about anyone breaking into my truck but I bet other people would be interested in it.

I dont understand locking wing windows, i must be missing something.
If you move the dang thing over to where the wing window does not open, why do you need to lock it there.

our trucks swing arm can be moved very easy from wing window rubber or from top of window,, the next few years trucks handle couldnt be raised unless you pushed the buttom on swing lock, much better system :fr: :yt: mike

Because people like me with long arms can use a screwdriver to push that latch up, open the wing window, and reach through all the way to the armpit, grab the lock knob and lift it up, unlocking the door.

I had a set of them from a dent that had the pushbutton on the end of the wing latch, had to toss them before leaving South florida. :hw: I really still want to do this upgrade if possible.
It is such an easy entry point to get into our trucks, would sure be nice to know as the wings did look the same. Just remove the pressed in roll pin on the wing / slide the new latch on / press the roll pin back in? Maybe Hawkrod can help us here with interchange or part numbers?

LMC has universal vent window locks, for or trucks, but they wouldn't look the same. Never had them so I don't know how good they work. :hmm:

I have done the reach through the wing window to unlock it deal. Sometimes its nice to have long arms lol

a knife would work better on some trucks. because of the possibility of good rubber around the windows. when i tried it. i thought a screwdriver was going to be too thick and break my glass.

True, but the only reason a thief would be worried about that is the noise it would make. Bigger risk of getting caught.

the part that really sucks is with these trucks if you have a keyed ignition switch , a thief can push a button on the ignition switch in your truck , pull apart from wiring harness, pop his ignition switch w/ key , and be gone ,, take less than 2 minutes,, so keep it locked as best you can :( :? :fr: mike

If you are talking about pulling the ignition cylinder out of the ignition housing, you have to have the key in the cylinder to be able to turn the key/push the button to pull it out.

BUT. you could still (even easier) get a whole ignition (cylinder and outer) and just simply unplug the trucks original ignition that is still mounted in the dash and plug yours in. 5 seconds and you're gone. I stole my '71 using the '69's ignition 2 weeks ago lol
