I am in the middle of repairing my steering wheel and fixing the horn. Finished the turn signal switch and the horn works fine when I ground the horn button on the turn signal switch. I bought a new horn contact brush which I assume goes in the turn signal switch as seen in the picture:
My question is, what do I put in the hole on the steering wheel before placing the horn ring (arrow on picture below):
I have a spring that fits the hole and seems to work. Is this right?
Thanks for any help!

Re: Horn Ring Assembly Question
Thanks, I guess my truck needs 2 of those. One in TSS and one in steering wheel.

Re: Horn Ring Assembly Question
Here is the completed horn ring and restored steering wheel. Fixed all of the cracks and filled with epoxy putty.

Re: Horn Ring Assembly Question
nice, very nice... I took the easy way out with my '54. The old steering wheel was cracked badly. I had planned on fixing it. I researched how too do it. I even bought lots of JB Weld to fill the cracks. I wasn't real excited about doing it so I found a good used wheel on ebay for $50... no cracks, job done!
