"Blow"er Motor

Post by PhyrPh0enix »

So I finally got my new heater box in and the heater hoses routed to the new control valve and heater core. I plugged in my new 3-prong blower motor resistor and now my heater only operates on 4 speeds: slow, pathetic, might as well be off, actually off. I bench tested the new blower motor when I got it with a +12V source from a spare battery and it damn near jumped out of my hands... Essentially, I think the new blower motor resistor is a little TOO restrictive. I have to pop it out and check the Ohms... Either way, I'm seriously considering making my own with some spade connectors, plasticard and radio shack special resistors. Has anyone done this? Any words of advice? Hey, if it works, I'll post a how-to when I get back to my trusty computer!

Thanks guys!

That's probably not a bad idea especially if you also do the relay mod for the fan on high

I didn't know there was a "relay mod" for the BM high setting! Is there a link to it or can someone explain it!? :?
