Actualy, that is the correct way to cut it. Just take some bar soap and rub it on the blade a few times trough the cut. This helps the blade shed the Al shavings. Also works well on files for cleaning up the edges.

For the speeker holes, I use a roto-zip type atachment on my dremal and a steel cutting bit. 1 bit does 1 hole as the steel is realy hard on the bit. But if you are doing Al then you should be good to go.

Don't drop the soap!
