t85 overdrive 3 speed trans

i just went today and got a 70 f100 302 with 3 speed t85 overdrive tranny. didn't know there was such a thing. working on 71 302 auto swb. don't if i'll part out the truck or get off what want and sell it. got it for the doors, they are really nice. this is my first posting, so you guys bear with me. i really like this site.

ive got a 70 F100 with the exact same setup, the OD is nice, it takes the RPM from about 2900 to 2100 going 70mph down the highway. This is a stupid question, but what does swb stand for??? What else is good on the pickup?

there are no stupid questions, just ones not asked. swb stand for short wheelbase. thanks for info on t85. the doors and hood are real good on the truck. i plan to use them and a few small misc. things. the bed is very usable. i guess i'll put all my stuff back on it and try to sell it.

For a 3 speed transmission they are cool! I found one out of a wreck of a 66 year truck behind a 360 that I was scrounging parts from. It took some searching for some new parts but overdrive is NICE. The only negatives are no sincronized first gear and a fairly tall first gear--but that holds true with any 3 speed --work great for anything--except pulling boats out of the water!
