NP435 Rebuild?

Post by Redcap »

My 3rd gear synchro is done for.

Does anyone have some suggestions for good resources on rebuilding the NP435, such as diagrams or the location of a step-by-step?

I have an origonal Truck Unit Repair Manual on the NP435. It was printed by GM, but covers all the models of the NP435.

I don't really want to give it up. I could scan it and put it on a CD. You are the one that lives in Centralia right? I live in Bonney Lake and work just outside of Cathlamet.

That's a hell of a commute! You are correct, I live in Centralia.

If you could scan and burn it to CD, I would really appreciate it! My truck is still driveable, but it grinds pretty good on the 2-3 shift and downshifting into 3rd is impossible.

OK, I scanned it to a CD in a PDF format. Do you have Acrobat to read it? You probably do.

HHHMMMM, now we just need to figure a way to meet up. I can swing into your town after work. Email me and we can figure it out from there.

NM5K,
I'd love to take a look at your T-18 rebuild instructions. You mention they are on the Web. Where might I find them? (didn't see them on your site). Thanks.

Go here: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/np435_parts.htm
I am probably the worst mechanic on this site and I was able to rebuild an NP435 using their kit and instructions. They also have a good tech line if you need it. They are very reputable and cater to the Jeep crowd mostly.

Here are a couple for the T-18. I haven't tried them, but they seem to be fairly detailed overall.

My T-18 works ok, but it could really use an overhaul. The rear seal started leaking, so thats an excuse to think about it... Many sites on the web carry the rebuild kits.

Anything online about 435's? I have recently acquired one and want to freshen it up so I can beat the tar out of it. :D

Talk to Redcap, I burned him a copy of the manual and he is planning on posting it online. I can send you a CD copy if you want.

I am also waiting to see if Keith wants a copy to post here.

Absolutely! I think something like that on the site would be a great resource. I'll PM you.
