Rant forum

Post by 460 crew »

I'm thinking a forum just for rants and basically a place to cool off or vent about some of the problems we encounter during the day or on the web would be cool. Just a thought. :hmm:

Here's my rant.

Last weekend decided to put my Mazda3 on ebay to get rid of it. Car is an 05 with under 6k on it. Bought it in August last year, and just am not using it enough to justify the payment.

Pull it out of the garage to clean it up (been parked for months) to discover at some point, someone backed into it or something in a parking lot and broke this little plastic piece in the back. Not a big deal, strictly cosmetic, but it went from a practicially new car in mint shape, to something with some physical damage.

I don't have time to track down the dealer only part and put it on, so figured I'd just drop the price a grand and let the next guy deal with it. Get it on ebay monday, and last night someone emails me that the carfax report is showing it as a burgundy car. It's bright freakin blue. I even have the window sticker posted showing it's blue, but now I'm getting emails questioning if I've had it repainted and asking how much more is wrong with it.

I contacted carfax to remedie it, but you have to fill out a pdf file and fax it in with documentation to prove you know the color of your car. I can't do anything about it because I'm in a hotel and won't get home until late friday. Auction ends monday and I have no shot of having carfax fix their gaff. My hope is someone comes to look at it in person over the weekend before the close of the auction.

For now, the hotel bar is a temporary solution.

I suppose in the shade is does look a little burgundy...

the plus side is that appears to be the only thing on the report. At least it's not showing it as flood damaged or something ridiculous.

It is definitely burgundy...no question. I think it is a shame that places like carfax and credit bureaus have so much control over our lives...with absolutely no credibility of their own. What makes them the experts? See what you have started with the rant forum 460?

Don't even get me started on credit unions...

Couple years ago when we bought our first house I pulled a credit report for the first time in years. Found a bunch of things that had been paid off for years but never reported. The hoops those @#$@# make you jump through is crazy.

 John, Better to let it out than bottle it up and unleash on one person. usually the ones you care about the most

I got kicked out of my credit union. So banking is done with Bank of America, not the best or the worst but it's hard to loose your money if there isn't any in there  I should just bank with paypal

I really have no gripes with those people. If I ever do, I will just compile some helpful information on the people running the place and post it on the internet just as a favor to them for helping me out.   Another way to help is to max out your credit, then file for protection for reorganizing your credit like the more affluent do. :P

Martha Stewart has her own line of paints, we used them in the house, they looked decent. So I thought, celebrity endorsed paint, what can be the harm?

Be advised, paint from "Stevie Wonders House of Color" may not match your swatch.

Lesson learned. :D
