em flasher

Post by 1968f100 »

I have a emergency flash switch in my glovebox. Can anyone tell me what the 4 wires are for? They are white/blue white/red red/black and green?
Thanks

Look at the wiring diagrams Keith has posted under factory liturature.
It will tell you where each wire goes.

I traced out the switch function and put it on a post-it. See if this makes sense, the em switch is a triple pole single throw switch. It takes the flasher output and connects it to the left & right front turn signals and also the rear stop lights.

sounds about right to me one power into unit and 3 out to the correct wires since the sockets ground to/through the body it only has to be power out.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

Yeah it's a nonstandard switch with only 4 pins but it acts like the top drawing with all 3 inputs tied together. To replace the factory switch with a standard one, you'd have to buy a triple pole, single throw switch and jumper the inputs.
