The motor runs well the only real problem is the flywheel. Which is going to be replaced. Ive tried rocking the truck but its sitting in a rut so its kind of hard to do by myself. And one other thing, today I was working on some wiring. First I mounted a splitter with a 12 guage wire from the battery to inside the cab. I mounted this splitter to the firewall. My problem is is that I wired the stereo power to this and when I push the horn it turns the stereo off  for a few seconds and then comes back on. Is this because my splitter is metal to metal on the firewall and the grounding of the horn resets it?
(my friend got a pretty good laugh out of this)

No it is because the truck has bad grounds and corroded connectors and splices restricting the flow of current.

The reason I say that is because I noticed it after I screwed the splitter to the firewall. So where should I start to fix?

Its an electrical splitter. I bought it at radio shack. Its great for wiring accesories because you can just run a short wire to it and then to a switch when wiring lights and things, eleminating the need to run a wire to the battery everytime. I just ran a 12 gauge wire to the inside of the cab and hooked it to the splitter. Making the splitter a constant hot. Ill post a pic later.

It is not a splitter but a Buss Bar or terminal strip.

actually, your problem MAY be from grounding out. I don't see a radio and horn pulling so much current it cuts the other off. I could be wrong though. Seems like a ground problem one way or the other, not a voltage deal.

Got it! Went to Radio Shack online and it's called a power split, glorified distribution block.

Hey they got 1.0 Farad capacitors, holy cow!

Yeah but that means radio shack is talking marketing not electricity.

From Napa a fuse Block that does just that

So I got the truck to roll down the hill and nothing. So then I got a socket and turned the engine manually with the pulley, still nothing. So now my truck sits next to the road and I cant move it. Any ideas?

It is manual right?? Try pull starting it. Or push starting it. I've heard that a hydrolock will sound like a bad starter/flywheel too.

One other thing, would I be able to turn the flywheel by hand if I removed the cover?

I dunno, I've never tried it. You did turn the motor clockwise right?? Anyhow I think you should be able to turn it although it may be difficult.

If the flywheel turns really easy, and the motor doesn't turn as easy, you probly broke the crank, or maybe the ring gear came loose from the flywheel.

I tried it both ways. Ill probably pull the plate off and get a look at the flywheel.
