The 68 styleside.

Post by rdaniel911 »

Here are the pics of Linda's Dad's old truck, finally we both got over the crud and could get out of the house. We picked it up this Saturday and brought it home where it belongs. I've got some cleaning to do Monday, but then it's on. Found out I should have gotten the hood of the 71 my buddy junked as this one is shot. Well anyway i'll try to update these as we go, hopefully it won't take long, there is a shot of the white visors from the 71, I don't need them so if anyone needs them let me know.

she's all about it, she's been on me to get the all the sheet metal ordered for the mustang so we can get it to the point we can handle it. She's jumps in both feet working on these things. We had a trip planned to go to Savannah Ga for a week, I slipped in that I wanted to go a day later than we planned to be able to attend the local mustang show in Pensacola, all she said was do they have parts. She's a keeper for sure. Oh and the organized parts on the shelf, she has a touch of OCD, and I have CRS so she figures it helps if she knows were it's all at.

I have an AC unit just like the one in your pics. I snagged it from the north U-Pull-It in Omaha out of a 1968 F350.
Haven't decided if I want to use that or the setup I got from LMC.

I can give your AC unit a good home here in Florida if you decide to go another direction!!!

All right, although the 240 was siezed, I worked it loose thanks to pb blaster, and marvels mystery oil, fired her up that afternoon, but encountered another problem, the fuel pickup tube was clogged with a tarry grain gunk, so it would only run off what i poured into the carb bowl. I got that fixed the next day. So now I have to replace the brake shoe keepers on the front brakes so they will work, and figure out why the column shifter won't transtion from 2-3 back to R-1. It just won't drop back to the low side. Oh well it has been sitting for sometime.

Cool, nice to know there are more of us around here. I went to the Pensacola Mustang and Ford show, thought I might get to see a couple of trucks, there were a couple a year or two back. But no bumps were there, My wife decided hers would be when we finish it. I did score a set of front seats for my 69 mustang, now I have 3 drivers seats and 1 passenger seat, anyone need two drivers seats for a 69 mustang, lol. I've been slowed down the last few weeks on finishing the frame. I need the two brake lines that come down from the master cylinder and the one that goes to the back, but can't find anyone that sells them each, they only have the sets, the front lines are still good as new.

That would be cool, I'm hoping by fall it's finished, I wanted to have it done before summer so I could start the mustang, but the guy doing the work on the body is doing it in between insurance jobs, so it's a little slow.
