Fuel sending unit from Summit (Jazz products).

Post by fisheye »

When I built my under bed tank I needed a new fuel sending unit. The one sold by Summit and built by Jazz products looked like a good choice. After sending back the first unit and getting a replacement I finally discovered that it was not calibrated for the truck fuel gauge. I talked to the Engineer who was very helpful. He also tested the unit but could not make it work. They ended up sending me back my money directly from Jazz instead of going through Summit and even sent me back the shipping for both units and other costs. I wish it would have worked but I was happy they treated me so well.

One of the benchmarks of a good company is how well they treat the customer when things don't go right.
Sounds like they passed the test.
I hope you find a sending unit

Fortunately the original sending unit in the in-cab tank was able to be used. The bolt patterns were close enough and I just shortened the rod to the float to make sure the swing was right and it works perfectly now. Just a few more tweaks and its ready for paint same as original.
