PNW Spokane swap meet and MEET & GREET July 8-10, 2005

Post by heep70 »

Here is another opportunity for a Greet and Meet along with a swap meet.

This swap meet is the 35th Annual Early Ford V-8 Spokane Auto Swap meet held July 8 - 10, 2005 at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds (Details & Map below). Along with this event would be another good time to do a Greet & Meet. Yup, this one is far away, but if F.O.R.D. can do it so can we. That way we can meet some of the fine folks out that way.

I think Saturday would be the better day?

As far as a place to meet and eat :D . I am not Familiar with that part of town. I can call my uncle and get some suggestions and/or take suggestions from you folks. If anyone (Spokane folks) wants to set up the place to do the meet and greet, please fell free to do so. If not, I will do my best.

A set time to do the meet and greet? 3:pm at some place?

We can exchange cell#s like the last time and call each other when we are ready to meet up or want to bum around with each other.

Costs:
The event is $5.00 per person for all three days. Children 12 years and under are FREE.

FREE Parking on fair grounds property. Private land owners may charge.

Public Admission Times
Fri. 11:AM - 8:pm
Sat. 8:AM - 6:pm
Sun. 8:AM - 2:pm

I used to haul grain bins and livestock from that area, but can't really remember anywhere great to eat around there... I'm sure there's lots not too far away...
We'll do our best to be there on Sat... probably get up before the chickens and drive over (it's about 4 hours).

I can't remember the place for the life of me, but theres this little place made from a traincar that I had breakfast at last time I was there that was AWESOME! I'll have to ask my buddy who lives out there where some good places to eat are.

Hopefully I'll be able to go, but I'm not sure at the moment. School starts that monday for me, it might be a nice last ditch vacation before going back :D

As for food theres this awesome restaurant "Longhorn barbeque" I just went to a branch over by me (sooo good!), but theres like three in Spokane, one of thems got to be in the general area of the fairgrounds right?

heres the site for one http://www.longhornbarbecue.com/spokane-east-main.html

theres also one at 7611 W Sunset Hwy. and 10420 E Montgomery
Dr.

Any thoughts?

If you like that place you should try Branks BBQ & Catering. They put Longhon to shame. Not knocking Longhorn, I also like their food.

The Longhorn off of N 2315 Argonne, Spokane is three block east of the fair grounds.

Are you going?

Sorry, I was east for the weekend. Branks is down here where I live. If you head south on 167 take the west valley hwy exit, cross back over the highway and it is it the first building complex to the left. Real easy to find.

Man, I can't believe it! Every time there's something happening I'm on call at work (July 8-15th), I'd complain to the guy that makes out the schedule but that's me. Unfortunately, once the schedule is set in January it's set in stone. I'd have a free place to stay there too, either in Cheney or in the Valley. Sounds like a good time though, catch you guys next time.

P.S. There are a few good wrecking yards in the area
