1970 ford f350 camper special

Post by kristi »

We have a 1970 ford f350 camper special that has a small light bulb on the lower dash, driver's side, to the left of the headlight knob and above the brake release. It came on while driving last week and we haven't a clue as to what the light is.Husband is driving it today and so far it isn't coming back on. Any help????

It is the brake system warning light. It lights up when you have lost hydrolic pressure on either the front or rear of your brake system. You should check your brake master cylinder to see if it is low on fluid on one or both reseviours.

If so, you need to add brake fluid and then bleed the brakes to get air out of the system. Getting that light to go off after that process is kind of hard though, because it needs to be "balanced" while you are doing the brake bleeding.

I've noticed that little bulb on my truck too but never paid it much attention.
Now I know what it's for.
