i have the f 250 4x4 and have always wondered,, on the rear extendable bumper,, on the top surface there is a small piece of steel sticking up on both sides and cant figure out what ther for ???? factory bumper , no mods ??? mike

on the slide out part of the bumper or on the outer bumper itself. a pic may help too. if it was on the outer part of the bumper it may be a filler piece for the bumper to sit against the camper and to take up space between the bed and bumper when the bumper is all the way in. if it were on the sliding rails it could be a stop of some sort if it were in the right place.
