Meet at FE Specialties in Sacramento on Feb. 18th at Noon!!!

Good afternoon!

As many of you know, Tom Lucas at FE Specialties in Sacramento, California has been building a high performance 406 CID FE for me. Just today I heard that it's basically complete and running on his test stand! Here are the two threads covering this engine build--the second one's a continuation of the first:

• What's this loud tapping sound from my new engine?
• 390FE (406ci) for #50, built by Tom Lucas at FE Specialties.

I'll be visiting FE Specialties to witness and video record a live run of the engine, to interview Tom about the new engine, to meet anybody who shows up, and to pick it up to haul it back to Salinas!

I'm rather tentatively planning on Friday, February 19th at 10AM, but that depends on the availability of those who already planned on stopping by.

I know that several folks have already expressed interest in being there to witness this event! And I wanted to make this thread to invite anybody else who may be curious to check it out to swing by. I already discussed it with Tom and he's OK with a group of folks coming to see the live run!

FE Specialties is located at 5859 Rosebud Lane, Sacramento, California.

If any of you would be curious to attend this event, please post to this thread and we'll work out the most ideal time!

Yeah it has been a bumpy road so far, and a very educational one! Thanks for your good thoughts. Too bad you're a little too far away to swing by and check it out, but I'll be sure to video-record the live run so you can watch it on the computer at least!

I didn't respond immediately to your post simply because I've been trying to see if I can re-schedule it for earlier in the week. If Ryan and yourself are the two interested parties we ought to be able to find a day that works!

I'll keep you posted on whether or not I'll be able to make it a day or two sooner. It sounds like Ryan has a week off so his schedule might be pretty open to something like that!

Thanks, and I think that's a good idea! I could do my own "Reality TV" show, with my consumer-grade video camera and lots of funny pauses.

I'll probably show up at FE Specialties and the parking lot will be packed with reporters from every news channel, helicopters roaring around in circles overhead, raffle prizes, a Farris Wheel, live music, and a lion trainer!

But what would be even more impressive would be a chance to check out Ryan's heavily modified F250!

I hopes of accommodating Rick's schedule and to avoid the rain, I've moved it to tomorrow (Thursday) at 12 Noon!

Ryan, sorry I didn't check with you first before changing the time--I hope this new time works for you!!!

This way, I'll be sure to avoid the rain. Can you imagine that new engine getting wet on the way back to Salinas? Or floating down the Sacramento River after I slid off the highway?

So this Thursday (tomorrow, February 18th) at 12:00 (Noon) is the time!!!

Hey Ryan! I thought of one more thing. You might want to bring along some ear protection! I don't know about you, but an engine revving with open exhaust inside of an enclosed building is definitely outside of my ear's comfort level! I'll be bringing some ear plugs for sure.

Howdy69 had this vacuum gauge hooked up on a long line, so he could stretch it all the way from inside the cab to out under the hood! Tom was discussing the vacuum readings with him.



Ryan's truck is probably the most well known truck on FORDification!
