Hello all,
I have a set of factory bucket brackets and plan to use a set of seats from a 65 mustang. I'm doing a frame off resto on a 67' Ranger and my goal is to keep it looking as original as possible. With that said does anyone have some detail photos of the correct hardware used? There are rivets on the bottom of the seat tracks, so did Ford use a washer between the seat frame and bracket? What style of nuts used and so on?
Thanks for the help,
Korey

I will take a look and see what I can find for for you. What are you looking for specifically? Just how the seat slides mount to the brackets? Let me know

I'm not sure how much this will help, but here's the exploded-view schematic from the Master Parts Catalog:

(Click to enlarge - high resolution)
There does not appear to be a washer between the bracket and track or between the track and the seat frame.
The numbers in this diagram show the Basic Part Number. Looking these up in the MPC and the Standard and Utility Parts Catalog I was able to get the following info:
618B72 and 618B73 - Plate, Front Seat Track Anchor to Floor - '67-'71 F100/350 (81) w/auxiliary fuel tank
Front: C7TZ-81618B72-A
Rear: C7TZ-81618B73-A
61216 - Reinforcement, Seat Belt Anchor to Floor Pan - '65-'69 F100/250 (81) - Bucket Seat
3-7/32" x 1/8" thick
C2AZ-6261216-A
372158-S (Bolt)
3/8" dia., 16 thread, 1-1/8" long, coarse-thread, plain finish
"A": 3/4"

354135-S (Bolt)
3/8" dia., 16 thread, cad. zinc finish
"A": 1-1/8"
"B": 1"

34392-S (Nut)
5/16" dia., 18 thread
Width across flats: 1/2"
Thickness: 21/64'
Finish: Cad. Zinc

Just a quick note since you seem to be concerned with correct, the seats in a Mustang are the same as the truck for all intents and purposes but seats used in trucks originally had different tracks. The studs that are part of the track are shorter on truck seats as they just go through the bracket but on a Mustang the studs are much longer as they go through a floor section and reinforcement. Truck tracks are actually pretty rare if you care about the "right" parts. Hawkrod

Re: Factory Bucket Mounting Hardware?
Thanks Admin, that is a good start. I figured there was some sort of bracket on the underside of the floor for the inner seat bracket. Now I need to find some dimensions on them. This could be harder than I thought:) I see you're from West Point, Ne. I grew up 7 miles northeast of North Bend and have been to WP many times. My parents still live there.
Hawkrod, I know about the stud length and will have to cut them off and make a special tool machine the lead point on the stud. It won't be a rolled thread at the end but who would look that close? I work for a custom metal fabricator company so I have access to some high tech equipment that will help make this project possible.
Hopefully someone with an original bucket seat truck would be willing to snap some pics on the underside so I can duplicate the support brackets. Thanks again for the help.
