Hello all
I plan on using a F600 gauge cluster in my 70 F100. Did Ford ever make a clock with a black face and white numbers that will fit in either the Tach or vacuum gauge location? Thank You Bob R

Re: F600 Gauge Cluster
No, but you can probably find something really close via aftermarket resources. However, I would think a tachometer or vacuum gauge would be a better choice to fill that hole. Factory vacuum gauges were available, as well as air pressure gauges (for trucks with air brakes). The tachometer is a mechanical-drive unit that only goes to 4,000 RPM, so not only does it not read high enough, but you'd have to buy an expensive mechanical-drive tach to use it. IMO you'd be better off finding a good electrical tach to stick in there.

Re: F600 Gauge Cluster
Keith thank you for your info. I'm looking to install an electronic tach. any suggestion to what brand to use that will match the stock black face gauges. Also I hope to find a clock instead of a vacuum gauge.
And if I win the lottery I hope to install a Crown Vic susp. The info re: Crown Vic is great.
This a great site filled with info that would cost more than the cost of building a truck!!!! Bob R.

Re: F600 Gauge Cluster
I have seen ford made clocks. I was thinking that the clock diameter would fit, but would be smaller, than the gauge. The T-birds of the late 60's had a 3.5" diameter and the f600 housing is about 3.5".

Re: F600 Gauge Cluster
I just bought a f600 cluster also. Does anyone have any guidance on installation?
I like that T-bird clock, but I'm not going to spend that much on one.

Re: F600 Gauge Cluster
i think to install a standard F600 cluster. you have to move a purple wire. i think that is what i read. that is only if you have a 67-69 truck. if you have a 70-72 truck you have to change all the wires on your truck to make the 70-72 wires work with the F600 cluster.

Here's one of the best threads here on the site on the F-600 instrument panel install:
http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hilit=F600
To rewire your truck for the 70-72 installation, you simply re-wire about 8 wires.
And I hope you got the wiring harness that goes with the F0600 panel.
