bump on auction show (w/ a pic)

Post by 69bumptruck »

Just saw a '67 F100 go for $28,000 on Mecum Auto Auction on the speed channel.

2 tone copper/white w/ a 390,swb. I've watched these auctions for a while now, and that's the first bump "I" have seen.

For $28,000 it should have had AC.

Someone is smoking some pretty good stuff. The truck doesn't even have power brakes. The inside looks goofy with random misc. chrome parts.
Whomever paid $28,000 for that truck must have hit their head on the hood latch a few times while looking it over.

Definitely a clean looking bump, but there's no way I'd pay 28k for it. I agree with Bobbyford on the chrome, at least he mentions it in the auction
- Custom headliner to match ranger seat
- Moon tach
- Extensive chrome plating
- Custom door and window handles
- F600 instrument cluster
- Chrome plating by City Bumpers
- Custom bed floor with hidden bolts
- Custom made fiberglass hood with Cobra scoop
- Pearl Tangerine and Mother of Pearl White base/clear coat and polished
- Flowmaster mufflers, Headman headers
- Doug Nash 4-speed top loader
- Dana 60 locker rear end
- 1962 Thunderbird 390 CI .030 over, balanced
- 2006 Ford Truck Nationals winner "Best in Show"

Maybe my eyes are bad, but that looks like RVT sealer smeared on the bottom of the intake to seal it ? What do yall think. I also like the way that the wireing on the right has no gromit on it and then goes behind the inner finder :hmm: I just cant see anyone paying anything past 14k on it :2cents:

My guess is that it has cut-outs but I'm not totally sure? Kind of a strange place for cut-outs if you ask me, most people at least leave them hidden under the car. Maybe he just wanted to throw some more chrome on it :?.

Sure does look like RVT sealer, and one big old glob of it at that. As for the wiring I'm not sure I know what you're talking about? Are you referring to the wires on the left inner fender for the headlights? If so then I agree there should be a grommet there .

Exhaust dump. Unbolt the plate and you're running open headers!
