Storing this one at my house for a friend while he moves.

I loaded the truck on the trailer as far back as possible to cut down on tongue weight.

You have to be careful , if you take off too much tongue weight it'll start to sway.

And when the "tail wags the dog" bad things can happen

That looks like a nice trailer and they're balanced better.
But I've had a couple of near death experiences with home made trailers that made me realize that I could afford a good trailer.

what Cep said about the Tail waggin' the dog, had this happen becuase the ball was loose. by the time i got halfway to where i was going i got whipped from side to side. had to stop and tighten the ball all the way. learned to always double check all work done to my truck even if i do it myself. luckily the road was deserted when ths happend.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I knew it was going to sway before I began, when I loaded the second truck, I loaded it back far to keep the tongue weight down, any farther forward the back of my truck was way overloaded. I took the back roads and only did about 35mph or so, over 40 it would sway. Otherwise it towed very well, but didn't stop too well. (my truck isn't equipped for trailer brakes yet). So I was going on my truck's stopping power all the way.
