Steering Wheel/Hood Hinges

Post by hotfuzz67 »

Does anyone know where to buy a black, 3 spoke steering for a '67? Like what came on the vehicle from the factory. I found one place, but they want over $200 for it. Any suggestions on hood hinges also. Thanks.

The wheels are on Ebay from time to time. They were used on many different models, 3 spoke steering wheel C3DZ3600A: 1961/66 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 4WD / 1967/70 F100/350 / 1966/73 Bronco / 1960/63 Falcon/Comet.

watch ebay for the wheels or restore your old one. if not you have to find one to restore or buy a reproduction.

the vendors sell hood hinges that i think are made in china i think. i am unsure. you can also find used hood hinges on ebay. usually the hood hinges aren't what goes back on these trucks it the hood hinges spring that wears out. and getting a spring that wont stretch out is something hard to do from the chinese. there may be some american made hinge springs i don't know. i also have some used hood hinges if you want or really need therm to replace worn out hinges. they do sometimes also wear out at the pivot point rivets.

Are your exsisting hinges bad? Or did you buy a "work in progress" like I did? LOL

It's not that bad (as far as I can see), but it is a wrk in prgress. The steering wheel is cracked in three diff places. The previous owner told me his son was driving down the highway and forgot to latch the hood down and the hood flew up and back completely bending the hinges beyond repair. I would be interested in some used ones. Where would I find reproduction steering wheels?

Wow, that surely calls for replacement... Id check denniscarpenter.com, lmctruck.com, macautoparts.com for replacement parts, as for the steering wheel, if you don't want to spend about two-hundred bucks, I'd watch ebay. I've bought ALOT of stuff on ebay, and luckily most of it was really well priced...

You guys that are finding things on Ebay, how are you wording your search because I did this awhile ago and didn't find much of anything worth while. Most of it for new trucks.

You kinda need to narrow down your search area on ebay, start with "hood hinges" and when it shows the results, start to narrow down the results using the selection criteria on the left side of the screen. I.E. maker, year, etc.

Or you can do what I do and use googles shopping, it searches ebay, and almost everyone else for you. LOL

Is there something peticular you are looking for on ebay?

I kind of have a laundry list of things. Mine is what you would call a driveable basket case LOL. I found some good catologs for new, LMC,C & G Ford, and Mac's antique auto parts, but if I can help it I need to save money. I don't have much of a budget, but the truck was free, and I really can use it.

Sounds like you are starting out the same as I did. LOL Only I my truck wasn't free. LOL I wish it had been though, would have meant more money for repairs...
