Ignition switch cylinder swap
I bought a new ignition/doorlock set for my 68 F250. I tried doing a search but couldn't really find the answer I was looking for. I'm wondering how to switch out the ignition part. I think I've read you use a paperclip in the little hole but I'm not positive. I don't want to do something wrong and screw it up. Any help is appreciated steering me in the right direction. Thanks

Re: Ignition switch cylinder swap
you turn the ignition key to accessories and lightly depress the release pin in the face of the lock cylinder then turn the key counterclockwise pull the key and lock assembly out together.and yes you can use a paperclip to put in the lock release hole. you might what to disconnect your battery just in case of wires contacting something they should not.

Re: Ignition switch cylinder swap
I replaced my ignition cylinder today (after doing some reading on this site - this place is great!). There's a small gap between the bezel and the dash - just enough so it isn't completely tight. Is there some kind of spacer or gasket that's supposed to go in between them?
Thanks!
Thanks!

behind the dash is this piece here. this is what the switch sits in and then the bezel tightens against the dash. i used to have a picture of it but i cant find it anymore.

Thats how I found the ignition was upside down. The mounting screw hole for the spacer piece thing was on top plus it has that little slot to fit into.
