Replacing AC Vents - How do i remove cover?
I am interested in replacing my AC vents because mine are pitted. Does anyone know how to remove the plastic AC cover, i dont want to damage it. Here's an old picture of my AC unit.

you have to remove th ewhole box in order to get the vents out or the face off. all the screws are in the back.

When my blower motor went bad, I read the Ford service manual and thought, "that's a LOT of trouble to go to just to replace the blower motor" and then thought, "I'm smarter than the Ford engineers and I can just do it with the unit in the truck."
Well, I found out REALLY quick that I was not as smart as I thought. Got most of the screws out and only had about a dozen cuts on my hands that didn't bleed enough to stain the carpet (only because I had a floor mat...

There are four bolts holding the unit in (plus the cables, wiring, A/C hoses and heater hoses). Really, it's not hard to pull the entire A/C unit out of the truck.
Like Fordman said, pull it, the screws are in the back, and you can't get the box apart without pulling it out of the truck.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???
That's not an oil leak
That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!
