Wow, hard to believe it's been 2 years since I've made any progress on the truck. I think about her every day and I'm still as motivated and excited about her as the day I tore her down. Just so y'all know I haven't lost interest, there's just been a few things that have consumed by truck money for the past 3+ years. First, my A/C coils in my air exchanger for my HVAC unit rusted through and started leaking. That required a whole new unit so I went ahead and upgraded to add another 1.5 ton's worth to the whole system for future expansion. Just when I was starting to recoup my losses from that, my septic drain field stopped up and...you guessed it!
SepticLines.jpg
So there went the truck money again. While I was at it, I doubled my drain field for future expansion. So I started saving up my truck money again. Weeelllll, some of you may know that my stepson and his family have been living with us for awhile now. It's not your standard household but it works for us. 3BR/2BA makes for a full house though. Anyway, I have 3 grandchildren in the house now and the oldest granddaughter, my sidekick, just hit puberty. She's been sharing a room with her 8 yr old sister but it's time she had a room of her own. So the future expansion has become a priority. When I built garage,10 years ago, I added a room above it. It was accessible by a staircase on the back deck so we've just been using it for storage. I figured that's a good place to start.

So with that as a base, I decided to go ahead and close it in and expand in that direction.

So I tacked on a 10' x 22' 2 story addition, added a bathroom and I'm relocating the laundry room. We'll turn the old laundry into a pantry. Here's some photos of the project in progress.

Exterior's done and rough plumbing, electrical and HVAC are in and passed inspection. I'm in sheetrock hell now (I hate sheetrock work!) but today I finished the bathroom and ready for paint tomorrow. Still gotta finish the upstairs drywall, the stairs and the whole downstairs but I hope to be done before the end of the year. Next year is for me, dammit! :cuss:  Unless something more important comes up I hope to be back on the truck by Spring 2019

Congrats on taking care of the family. Lots of people have unconventional households now. The addition looks great! Are you going to take the new room away from everybody else? You will get back to that truck soon enough.

That's impressive very impressive. I think we all know the pain of wondering where all the time, and money goes. Here is to a swank house project complete and a swank truck project under way. :D

Thanks for encouragement! I'm still stalled but not a day goes by that I don't think about it. I'm off this week to build a playhouse for my granddaughter. More truck money......priorities..... But with all this crap going on the kids need something to lift their spirits and let them know life goes on.

Nice job on the drainfield and addition Randy!
Am amazed at the new style perforated drainfield material I also see down here in florida, (versus the old 4" black flexible tubing).

Putting this out here to see if anyone is interested. Personal circumstances have forced my hand and now the time has come.
It is with great sadness that I'm giving up on my lifelong dream of restoring my bump. If you're a member of Fordificaton.com you can see my entire project thus far on my project thread http://www.fordification.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22...
Located in Jasper, GA 30143. Totally free. Just come and get her and bring Kleenex. If you've never seen a grown man cry, this is your chance. It's going to take some work to gather everything together and will involve carrying parts from my basement, around the house, and bringing them up to where you can get them loaded on a trailer. The frame and cab are together and she will roll. The bed is going to be the toughest part as it is behind the house, flipped up on it's side under the back deck.
Comes with a fully machined, .030 over, 351W block ready for assembly (I don't have any parts) including Edelbrock 351 4bbl intake, Holley 650, finned aluminum valve covers, stainless steel bolt kit and complete serpentine belt mounting brackets, etc, including reverse flow timing cover.
Ford 9" rear has a PowerTrak No Slip differential installed.
Refurbished Dash Pad, New Chrome Sport front bumper and mounting bracket set, multiple sets of body side molding (need refurbishing), '72 under dash A/C/Heat/Defrost unit, rebuilt '71 steering column, stainless steel rear brake lines, front disk brakes, all new polyurethane rubber bushings and cab mounts, C4 transmission in need of rebuilding and many, many more parts and extras. Cab is ready for paint and has installed sound deadener and insulation. All glass is original and in good shape although it has been removed. I'll throw in a complete set of parts manuals on a USB drive and all the support I can provide in your journey.
Somebody please give her a good home!
