Possible trade with cash on top

Post by 72 F-100 Explorer »

As alot of you know,I have been searching for a decent shortbed bed in the tristate area(NY,NJ,CT,PA,even willing to travel further) for my recently acquired 69 Ranger project.I have a near flawless mint 72 longbed bed that am willing to trade for a shorty bed and even throw some cash on top.I would hate to cut the longbed up into a shorty.Rather have somebody that needs a near factory condition longbed for their project and then I can benefit with a shorty bed as well.Theres gotta be somebody out there thats doing up a longbed project.Give you the whole damn thing(side moldings and mint Explorer emblems)You can eat off the bed floor, thats how clean this bed is.Absolutely no bondo, dents or rust thru issues at all.Been in garage environment a good 30+ years of its existence since 1972.Let me know

I could use that bed. I'm in PA about 40 miles North of Pittsburgh. I put a call into a place I know that sells some nice parts for the old stuff. He said he has one and he's gonna go take a look and see what kind of shape it's in. Their stuff is usually very nice rot free. I've bought there before.

My 72 bed is getting rough and I need to do something with it.

This place is about an hour / hour and a half away from me. If he says it's nice I can run up and get some pictures and / or buy it for a swap. Maybe save me two trips and could send some cellphone pics? Or if you'd rather deal with him direct that'd be fine too and I can give you his number. If you want to go that route consider selling me your bed when you come to grab one here... should it work out that he has one worth it.

I'll give him a hollar in an hour or so and see what he found. He was just opening up when I called.

Well called back and he does have one but I didn't get to talk directly to him. He was apparently busy and was hollering stuff to the girl I was talking to. She said that he said... that there's some rust on the front of the bed floor.

I don't know how bad it is? I don't know where you'd draw the line on fixable? If I get a few things done later today (pending on if I can take a half day off work since it's a beautiful day today...) I could run up tomorrow and get a few pictures. It's suppose to pour tonight and be cold and crappy out tomorrow anyway. good day for a ride.

Meantime maybe somebody else out there has a mint one?
