Wanted ASAP 67 to 69 F100 bump side truck bed

Post by jamiebennett »

Wanted 67 to 69 f100 bump side bed, prefer no trim, no tool box, no auxiliary fuel tank, needs to be nice, rust free, need ASAP before October 3, I am from Iowa trying to complete a frame off truck build and will travel to pick up the right truck bed. Possibly have a person that will be in southern California late this week. I am new to this forum and any suggestions to help find this truck bed would be greatly appreciated.

I have one in SoCal that is listed in this thread with photos: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 11&t=67859

I have not heard back from the other member that wanted it, so first come first serve on it. I am asking $300 and it needs to be picked up. Check out the pictures and see if it works for what you need.

You are going to have a VERY hard time finding a bed that is not going to need any work. If you can find a good bed with trim, then filling the holes is a very minor and easy job. If you find a bed with just minor dings and dents but no rust and straight, then that is also an easy fix. But you are going to be looking a LONG time to try and find a bed that is going to be perfect in every way for what you need. The fact is that these beds are all 40+ years old and the bed was the most used/abused part of the trucks usually. The nice beds you see on trucks now-days have usually been restored at some point, and the ones that are already restored, most people are not going to part with.

The key is finding a good bed that only needs minor restoration and then doing a little of the work yourself to get it how you want it.
