Highbeams in 79?

Post by Chromepro »

Anyone know if highbeam switch was still on the floor or on the column in 1979? :hmm: Doing a 68 to 79 column exchange, so this might be good to know.

Should still be on the floor... where they belong.

yes, they are on the floor until at least 87 (parting out a 87 f250 and its on the floor)

btw: You'll have to run a ground strap over your rag joint to get the horn to work on the 79 column. they changed the way they grounded in 78.

I had an 88 that still had the dimmer switch on the floor.

1991 was the last year for the floor mounted high beam switch on f100/150-350.

I understand that the horn has two wires, so could I ground one, or does the column need to be grounded to maybe a box bolt?
