It should be the same as my 74 parts truck. Just by feel it seems like the 74 is moving more airflow, but I haven't tested it out yet to physically measure the difference. I test hvac systems for a living and have the equipment to measure the exact cfm's, I just haven't brought my parts truck back to the garage. The old lady bans me from taking up both stalls until spring because her car is allergic to snow.

I had to put a 195F thermostat in my 390 to get any heat out of a new
heater core. Now it works the defrosters ok, and throws plenty heat.
The cab on one of these trucks is so small to heat compared to a car.
Have you fixed the leaks at the door and window seals? Any holes in
the firewall?

I have that stat in my truck already. I have a little bit of gaps here and there, nothing major, but it's not the cab heat that is really the issue, it's the defroster. Unless i find a huge difference in cfm flow between the two fans, I'm going to put in some different defroster duct and locate it better. My cab heats up pretty decent, but the factory ducts just don't direct the air to the best spots.

actually if i remeber right mine don't work that great either because the ducts are so far away. i just have to let it warm up longer than i would my newer truck.
