Doors came out as good as I could have hoped for. Added the tweeters up where the dash meets the side and angled them.

I mocked up a surround for the head unit with foam board after I made sure everything was working well. I took that pattern and welded up the real thing out of thin sheet metal.
It’s actually upside down in this photo.

I have another picture of this where I used the flash, but I wanted to show how it’s not really that obnoxious. It’s within easy reach too.
It doesn’t hang down into the view of the glass much, so it’s completely out of view from the exterior of the truck. The original radio is completely unmolested.

This one did use the flash, so it shows up the marks I need to clean off the headliner.

Anyway, this allows modern navigation from my phone, hands free use for calls, and I even wired a rear view camera. Oh...and it sounds amazing for a 50 year old tin can.

I decided to change the light switch because the resister spring for the interior dimming was shot. I bought a switch from Mac's, which is a Dennis Carpenter part. Normally, I've found DC parts to be very high quality in the past. That was not the case with this switch. The threads were so poor, the bolt was unable to engage with it.

Luckily, the ceramic donut and whole dimmer assembly up front is removeable. I pulled that from the new switch and added it to the old switch.

This is a picture of what went in the garbage. The new switch and the old dimmer components.

Thanks WhitsEnd! I had the same problem with a new light switch from LMCTruck. The original bolt threads don't fit the threads in the new switch (too loose). I put the new dimmer assembly in the old switch and we're good to go. Thank you :)
