Just curious...when this tranny is operating correctly, is it possible to press the clutch (with the engine off) and shift it into all four gears?__ Man I sure wish I owned this truck while it was working!!!!

Found out this weekend that the tranny is definately gone. The kicker is... you guys were right about the linkage too. I was able to tweak the linkage back in spec, but the tranny will have to be swapped. I found another one at a junkyard out of a '71 with 35K less miles on it. Needs a gear oil change, but it seems to work OK.

I love those 3 speeds on the column trucks. Most people don't know how to drive them anymore. You should be able to shift into each gear anytime with the clutch pushed in. Keep it on the tree!

Got the tranny up and in this weekend. Beforehand, I drained it, washed it out with some diesel fuel, and refilled it with Amsoil gear oil. Changed the throwout bearing too while I was in there. Seems to work like a champ. Pretty easy job too. Now all I have to do is get that floor shifter in there. Thanks for all the input.
