Biggest Thing is I'm gonna be a dad!!!!

Secondly all the parts are at home now thankfully.
These are
79 D60 king pin disc front
10.25 sterling cab chassis rear
zf5-42
429 thunderjet 360HP
Divorced NP205 t case

Yep now just gotta get it together. Been pulling 50-60 hour weeks for too long now want my free time back. It's coming
Manny

Other than the ZF5-42 and 429 we have the exact same drive train. I kept and rebuilt the NP-435 and turned my FE-360 into a FE-447. Is your D60 in need of a rebuild or did you luck out and find a good used one? Mine needed rebuilt so I did convert it to crossover steer with Reid Knuckles and High Steer kit from Ruff Stuff.

Congrats on the fatherhood news.

Thanks guys. All right so here is more.

I tore the Sterling down. It was a 4.10 however the open diff had some chipped teeth.
Image

Image

I purchased a $150 used limited slip. Then put a $110 clutch kit in it and swapped the gears and bearings over.
Image

Had to get aggressive with the old bearings. However the bearings were 90 a set so i saved my old good ones.
Image

All pressed on.

Here is a change of topic i started scattering the 429.
Image

The good news is its a 360 hp 10:5 to 1 engine. The bad news is it's gonna need good gas at 10.5 to 1.
Image

The other thing is it has the original nylon aluminum timing chain so the mileage has to be low. I'll take it!!!

Here is something that may help others in there projects. The axle tube was rusted on the inside so it needed a cleaning and rags just won't get it all the way done.
Image

Soooo take a long extension and sockets. Tape them together. Tape a rag around it as a pad. Finally tape a scotch pad to it. Make certain to use good tape 3m only.

Image

Apply speed handle or a ratchet and just start twisting away to clean it up.
Image

The results were not to shabby.
Image

That's wd-40 laying in the tube. I also cleaned out the housing and sprayed it with wd-40 to save it.

Image

As of current.

Okay so those pictures were the last ones taken with my canon pocket camera. Kinda don't know what happened there...... So i have been working on a smooth flow. Lets see how this works with iphone photos optimized, and then uploaded.

The rear end got mocked up with the factory spacers. The contact patch was quite good for the old set and good back lash.

As it was good went ahead with new pinion seal and nut and locked it all up together.

So can you see those or not? I hope so!!
