1969 F-100 Hood

Post by Shayne »

I need some help folks, My hood wasn't latched and the wind flipped it up doing some damage. really dumb on my part and its a total bummer. I can't find a replacement hood as it appears they do not make reproductions for this year.

So my questions are:

1.) Does anyone know where I can get a hood for this truck?

2.) Will a 1973-1979 Hood work on a 1969 truck?

Any help here will be very appreciated.

Thanks, Shayne

1973-79 is a different body. you might be able to bolt it on but the body lines would not match. You may want to post up your location as members across the country might have spare parts and may be nearby. :wel:

Be on the lookout for the larger trucks (2- or 3-ton trucks) of that vintage as well, as well as school buses, etc. Depending on what duty that truck had, sometimes their hood can be in better shape than what you would find on a 1/2-ton.

I am in Oakland California.
I would be happy to look into shopping from your location.
Where are you at? How much dough would it take to get you to part with one?

Ah, the land of milk and honey for old truck parts. Go hit up some junk yards and bring a nice one home.

logan ut is where it is located, if you can get it to your location its yours. I once was part of a vintage camp trailer group my trailer that i had spent the better part of the year restoring had the one piece roof (also a very rare model) come flying off in a freak storm it broke it in half... I felt doomed...they hadnt made this model in 20+ years... then a member of the club lent me a hand and I was able to find a replacement parts trailer.... so im passing it on.

I would love to have that, It looks like your only 11hrs away.. let me figure out my schedule and I will most like drive to you.. if that is not possible, maybe I can figure out a way to have a service pick it up and ship it to me.. thanks so much..

If I can make it out there to get it, would you allow me buy you some dinner to show my appreciation?

Cheers, Shayne

You still out there 68Monster?

Please respond to this post when you see it.

I found a Fiberglass Hood, but would much rather have a original steel hood for the truck I am working on.

yes still here, sorry I don't get on a lot like I used to. I've been busy trying to find a open knuckle front axle, as i think the 35's will be hard to stop with drum brakes. I sent you a pm

yea those are not holes, prob dirt on my camera lens. the rust is very superficial and with a little sanding and some paint this would be a great hood. the truck has the same surface fust on the fenders and the bed, I have sanded them both and they are not part of my truck.
