ID numbers on C-4 Trans.

Post by jf100 »

I am swapping out an engine and transmission. I am going to sell the c-4 because I am putting in a c-6 trans. I have 2 sets of numbers on the transmission. The number on the drivers side that is stamped into the transmission is 8F-D0AP 7006-C on the passenger side it is C6A 7DC027-C Which number do I go by? Thanks for any help that you can give. Or any site that would have the numbers that I can look up.

Didn't know that it changed in any way from 1964 to 1982 for a need to know an exact model number? :hmm:
I've always just taken them into a reputable tranny shop to have rebuilt, (love the C-4 as it gives our Fords dependability off the bat).
