Howdy All! 1970 f100 Project beginning soon

Post by Opas_Truck »

I am about to take the plunge and begin restoring a 1970 f100 that has been in my family since it was new! My great uncle purchased it new and sold it to my grandfather in ~1974. Grandpa drove it until he passed in '95. I drove it to highschool in 2002-2005 and had two younger brothers drive it on and off up until about 2011. It has been sitting in a barn since then. The current plan is to visit family in Amarillo and hopefully get it running. Not going to try and drive it all the way to Houston but I am crossing my fingers that the old 360 will fire up again and make the shipping a little cheaper! Wish me luck and I will post lots of pics along the way!

The 360's are die hard engines. If I were to be I'd say you can spend a few hours on it and it's might make the trip with no issues.
Brakes and fuel issues would be my greatest concern after sitting that long.
Oh yeah...the new guy buys the next cup of coffee for the 15K or so of us LOL!

Welcome aboard.
If you have got it running and made the drive ok that is great. If not, check that great truck out and she will probably make the drive.
Have fun with the family treasure, and Keep on Trucking.
